The Kids’ Educational Engagement Project (KEEP) is excited to announce a new partnership with Lonestar Cell MTN.  To enable our efforts to keep children learning, the GSM operator has enrolled KEEP’s website under its zero-ratings program, which was designed to support cost-free digital learning during school closure. This means our children and parents using the Lonestar Cell MTN service can access contents on the KEEP official website at no cost to a user.

As the KEEP website is populated with educational materials and exciting tools for reading and learning, this partnership will enable thousands of parents and students across Liberia to have access to educational resources and contents on KEEP’s website without paying money or having it charged against their internet bills.

This timely partnership comes in the wake of MTN listing several international learning platforms as zero-rated to enable Liberian students across the country have access to online learning resources at no cost during the compulsory closure of schools.

Zero-rating is the practice of providing internet access without financial cost under certain conditions, such as permitting access to certain websites, subsidizing the service with advertising, or exempting certain websites from data allowance. In the case of KEEP Liberia, this service comes at no cost to the organization and is fully supported by the GSM network.

In recent weeks, KEEP launched its Reading and Storytelling Hour on Tamma TV, as a way of keeping students engaged and benefitting from the joy of reading and storytelling. The storytelling sessions are aired on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, on Chanel 2, on Satcom.

This broadcast is in addition to the KEEP providing low-cost mobile phones to parents and students in Gbarpolu and Montserrado Counties to ensure they have access to the Ministry of Education’s Learning By Radio Programmes currently aired across several media platforms in the country.

KEEP is the first Liberian local charity organization that has benefitted from this amazing partnership under the Zero-rated Sites Program being rolled out by LoneStar/MTN.
